Help Send East End Kids to Summer Camp!
This year, we’re launching a summer camp fundraiser to send 10 children from low-income households to summer RAC Camp! Help us reach our base target of $8,250 to send 10 kids from Riverdale, Riverside, and Leslieville to a fun, affordable and inclusive summer camp!
At the Ralph Thornton Community Centre’s summer RAC Camp, our mission is to ensure that every child who walks through our doors has access to a transformative summer experience, regardless of their financial circumstances. We provide a fun and inclusive space where children from diverse backgrounds can learn, grow, and be themselves.
With dedicated streams and spots that support the inclusion of children from low-income, newcomer, and LGBTQ2S+ families, a low-barrier registration process, and nominal fee, we make affordable and accessible childcare a reality for families from diverse backgrounds in our community.

Your support is crucial in making affordable and accessible summer childcare a reality for all families in our community. By becoming an essential supporter of RTCC’s summer camp, you can help create an incredible summer filled with joy, learning, friendship, and adventure for all our campers.
We aim to raise a base target of $8,250 to help fund the low-income stream of our summer camp (which currently costs $22,000 to operate). Although camp only costs families a modest $20 per week per child, the actual weekly cost of running it is $275 per child. Your donation helps bridge this gap, ensuring that kids from low-income households get the opportunity to experience the joy and adventure that summer camp provides!
Here’s an example of how your support helps:
- $55 provides one day of camp fun for a child from a low-income household.*
- $275 provides one full week of camp for a child from a low-income household.*
- $825 provides a complete three-week camp experience for a child from a low-income household.*
*If you make a gift of $55 or more, you’re also eligible to pick up a pair of RTCC branded purple sunglasses at reception until the end of July!
